On March 17, Scentre Group unveiled the highly anticipated redevelopment of Casey Central Shopping Centre. The $155-million redevelopment includes 84 new fresh food, dining, specialty and mini major retailers, Target and Aldi, a relocated and refurbished Coles and a new Woolworths scheduled to open later in 2016.

Featuring a casual outdoor dining area with restaurants including Grill’d and Degani café plus a state-of-the-art children’s playground, Casey Central will be well equipped to serve the needs of the centre’s family-based community.

The official centre opening commenced with a Welcome to Country speech along with a smoking ceremony and dance performance to acknowledge the traditional land of the Bunurong and Wurundjeri People, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Greg Miles, Chief Operating Officer at Scentre Group in partnership with City of Casey Mayor, Cr Sam Aziz.
